MCM Cocktail Party!

Join us for period inspired libations, food, and live music, in a beautifully restored and appointed Mid-Century Modern home in Riverwoods, IL.

Architect Edmond Humrich designed over 30 homes in Riverwoods; our guest speaker, Don Wrobleski (architect and MCM/Bauhaus expert), will talk about Humrich and the Riverwoods MCM residential history.

The music of Brazil was a huge component of mid-century music in America including major hits by Getz/Gilberto and Sérgio Mendes. Our performers for this evening, the Luciano Antonio Trio, are excellent contemporary Brazilian musicians based in Chicago. Luciano sings in Portuguese and plays acoustic guitar; two percussionists round out the trio. Luciano and trio will discuss the music and the intriguingly inventive percussion instruments as they perform in a house-concert setting.

Our carefully planned menu of libations and food reflect what was served at many a mid-century cocktail party, but of course our talented mixologists and chefs have their own contemporary way with the classics. This is an open bar event with full food stations.
